Dec. 9th, 2002 IT'S "THE SURREAL LIFE" FOR THE WB Seven Celebrities Move Into One House As Production Begins on New Series Fast-Tracked With A Six-Episode Order BURBANK, CA (October 22, 2002) - The WB brings a diverse group of some of America's best-remembered pop culture figures back to television audiences in a half-hour comedy/reality series, THE SURREAL LIFE. From the producers of "Blind Date," the celebrity cast includes actors from past hit series, a former child star, two musical stars, and a beauty queen, and one star of the hit series "Survivor II." This unlikely group of housemates moved in together on Monday, October 21 and will share a fun and funky house in the Hollywood Hills for ten days. Sept 27th, 2002 Another post from Nikki's on-line diary I hosted a show for V H-1 called*Graveside Groupies* yesterday.Theres this underground of people who collect stuff from dead rockstars including bones (etc etc)…. Now,some good grave robbing always keeps me intrested, but these people need a fucking hobby. It should be a pretty fun show…It will air Oct 26th and Halloween night….

Looks like John Corabi will be the second guitarist in Cockstar: It rained for a moment here in L A the other day and you could smell fall coming on .It always makes me grateful that I’m alive this time of year, not only is this my fav time of year, i feel like I’m on a creative high at the moment…and feeling is living.... isn’t it? Now I know I like to let you in on details way in advance sometimes, and there have been those who say too close too. Of course I see the problem with sharing in advance in such public places as our message boards. The naysayers just want to find something to complain or point out….. ((. Like if the bass player of the band you like is playing and writing with another band, then his band must be OVER))…it always amuses me…these same people existed 25 year ago in my life…and 20 and 15…and 10 and 5 years ago too…. Anyway…Donna is wonderful (we just celebrated meeting 6 years ago)) we’ve been thru heaven and hell together…it feels like we’ve grown closer due to a certain persons addiction. were so head over heels in love and it just gets stronger everyday.. nothing…..ever could separate us…..we’ve become one…

As far a rehearsals go…I feel the same kind of magic I felt when motley first reh in 1981.last week we wrote and put together 6 new songs…. its really flowing easy…I’m jazzed about Kris Kohls drumming...i hope not to take anything away from him by saying this..but he plays and hits a bit like Tommy used too..were locking up really good..i feel like we’ve been in a band before..Weird eh?? Tracii Guns is never short on riffs and ideas…I’m blown away by him and his positive energy…..Ive always been a fan, but I guess I wasn’t paying too close attention.this little bastard burns…damn…. Up next in the sixslinger position has been Mr. john corabi…nothing but sheer cool on rhythm gtr…ideas for days..Voice from hell and fills in nicely with smoking cigarettes and relentless sarcasm I love the dueling guitars and double lead vocal ability of this BAND… …And by the way..There are no singers from la that ive found who scream like London (our bands singer). He’s from South Carolina….

Sept. 19th, 2002 MÖTLEY CRÜE To Say Farewell At OZZFEST 2003? - Sep. 17, 2002 MÖTLEY CRÜE bassist Nikki Sixx is hoping to launch the group's farewell tour at next year's Ozzfest, according to NEUROTICA frontman Kelly Shaefer, who spoke to Sixx at the San Bernardino stop of this year's traveling festival. The following account is taken from Shaefer's online diary, as posted at NEUROTICA's official web site: "I made it over [to the main stage] in time to watch TOMMY LEE [perform live] for the first time," Kelly wrote. "As I approached side stage, I saw Nikki Sixx coming with his wife Donna D'Errico. He appeared just as he did in all of those CRÜE videos, still sort of rolling in all his 80's glory. It's strange that Tommy has sort of stayed 'relevant', but Nikki still appears to me as 80's. Don't get me wrong — I have respect for Nikki. I loved Shout At The Devil and Too Fast For Love — those were good times in my life — so I have fond memories of those tunes! it was interesting to me to be standing in L.A. side stage while Tommy was playing, and looking across to the other side of the stage and seeing Nikki Sixx watching Tommy play. He seemed 'amused' and entertained as he watched them play 'Shout At The Devil'. I thought that maybe Nikki would have come out to jam it with him. After Tommy's set, I was hanging and ran into Nikki. I introduced myself and we chatted for a bit about Vince and his belligerent rantings lately, and his current drunken status. He said it's a shame 'cause he and Tommy had talked about how cool it would be to do it one more time, but with the shape of Vince, it would be hard to do, just hard to deal with him like he is. I am quite sure and could tell by the sound of his voice that they had dealt with that shit for too long already, so I can understand why he would be reluctant to jump on that train again, so to speak. He said how cool it would be to do it at Ozzfest next year. I guess we will see soon enough if they pull it together again."
Sept. 18th, 2002 Here's a message from Tracii Guns about the new band he's starting with Nikki: Today COCKSTAR hit the rehearsel room.... Who ever said Nikki cant play the bass is insane. Kris and Nikki sound like a steam engine running through an indy 500 track at 1000 horsepower( JUST MONSTEROUS). We worked on a couple of new songs and faked our way through some CRUE stuff,,, basically a day of getting to know each other and playing together. Crab came in for a bit and Jammed with us,,, of course....It sounded great,,, cause John is a great guitar player. We will be checking out a few other guitar players over the next few weeks. Little Adam is gonna start with us tomorrow to help us until we get a permanant Guitar player... All in All i think we are off to a good start...now....If Sixx will stop reading the Advocate during practice, everything will be great :)

Sept 12th, 2002 from blabbermouth MÖTLEY CRÜE bassist Nikki Sixx and L.A. GUNS axeman Tracii Guns have apparently set COCKSTAR as the name of their new project, which also features in its ranks ADEMA's Kris Kohl on drums, L.A. GUNS bassist Adam Hamilton on guitar, and a curiously-named London on lead vocals. "I have been writing and recording everyday on the bus new songs for my new band COCKSTAR," Guns wrote via his official web site. "Nikki and London have been writing on the weekends,,, and their songs sound great although I just hear them over my cell phone most of the time. The new stuff is pretty heavy with lots of energy and London is simply amazing. His voice over our music just doesn't sound typical (HE'S AMAZING). Well, we start rehearsing September 16th back home in Hollyweird. Adam will be playing guitar, keyboards and weird sounds in the band.., So between jammin' with L.A. GUNS and writing for COCKSTAR, I have been playing guitar at least 4 or 5 hours a day so. My playing is at its best game for the moment, so I am happy..."

Sept. 2nd, 2002 Happy Labor Day. Here's Nikki's latest post on the AOL Crue message board, lots of info: Long time no talk….ive been up to all good. As always I’m into many different projects.one that I’m involved with is the "tattoo the earth" festivals.we did two this summer as well as another coming in Oct. more on that later.
Another is a co- partnership with dragonfly clothing.we just unveiled to the buyers at the magic show in Vegas my line.its called**NSIXX** and it’s the cool dragonfly styled button up shirt but it will have my tattoos as the basis for the artwork. Again more on that later…
Been knee deep in getting all the T’s crossed and I’s dotted with Paramount Pictures and MTV Films for the Motley Crue movie.If all goes well there will be a farewell tour,and amazing soundtrack and a movie all hitting in late 2003- early 2004.
My new band starts rehearsals in 3 weeks. The line-up so far is Kris kohl(from adema) drums Tracii guns(from la guns) guitars London on lead vocals Me on bass (duh) And an UN-named 2nd guitarist
We’ve been finishing demos at my house until Tracii and Kris return from tour. Id say it’s a cross between shout era Crue, first Gn R, Soungarden and Jane’s Addiction. Damn does this band cook..London is one of the best singers ive ever heard..Imagine if Ian Gillian and old school Axl had a baby…it would come out sounding kinda like London.
I can’t believe that’s his name…I mean come on..They say god has a sense of humor..but gimmie a break.
Donna spa was set back a bit due to construction. Its mind blowing to see her setting this place up. She’s so on it. The transition from actress to business owner and back again is a bit weird im sure…but she’s and entrepreneur and she does it with grace///she seems to kick ass in anything she does…. Donna and I went to ozzfest on sat and hung with everybody.Great to see to Tommy up there doing his thing…he was fucking good.. His band is awesome… Me and donna had a killer time..What a day(AND NIGHT)…
I started boxing again and training.I foresee some local live shows coming up in a few months for the new band…. Gotta pop that cherry someplace..,might as well do it in our own backyard.. Wanna come?

August 17th, 2002 Vince Neil Walks Out on Concert .c The Associated Press STEAMBOAT SPRINGS, Colo. (AP) - Motley Crue lead singer Vince Neil yelled obscenities and walked off a nightclub stage when fans couldn't sing the lyrics to one of his songs, the club manager said. Jim Turczynski, manager of Levelz nightclub, said Neil became angry shortly after midnight Thursday while performing here with a backup band during his solo tour. Neil played a few Motley Crue songs and then started playing one of his own compositions. When the crowd of about 250 didn't know the lyrics, ``He said the crowd was a bunch of losers, among other things,'' Turczynski said. ``Then he got on his bus and just left.'' Turczynski said Neil was on stage for less than 10 minutes. He said the crowd was upset but did not become violent. Neil's manager, Burt Stein, wasn't immediately available for comment Friday. The club was refunding the $25 ticket price. Turczynski said it cost about $12,000 to hire Neil and was unsure whether the club would get the full amount back. Neil is wanted on a misdemeanor battery warrant for allegedly punching a record producer last April outside a nightclub in West Hollywood, Calif. A warrant for his arrest was issued Aug. 7. If convicted, he could face a maximum of six months in jail and a $2,000 fine. Stein has called the punching allegation ridiculous and said the 41-year-old singer would be ``completely exonerated.''

August 14th, 2002 SOURCE-Blabbermouth.net: MÖTLEY CRÜE have just signed a deal to turn their autobiography, The Dirt, into a film, bassist/mainman Nikki Sixx told Billboard magazine. "You don't want it to be too watered-down," Sixx said, "but at the same time, I think it's kind of a survival story of four guys that came from these four completely different places, went through the fire together and coming up the other side and still surviving." "We're all still alive, you know, somewhat," he added with a laugh. According to Sixx, the book's appeal lies in the fact that the stories don't always mesh. "We didn't want to do one of these books that was like, a tell-all book that was just combed through so perfectly so that everybody was comfortable with each other's statements," he said. "Guys in the band say stuff about each other and that's what happens in real bands, so why not put it in print?" As previously reported, an arrest warrant was recently issued for MÖTLEY CRÜE lead singer Vince Neil for allegedly punching a record producer outside a West Hollywood nightclub last April. Sixx said he was not surprised to hear the news. "Is that the first one to ever happen for MÖTLEY CRÜE?" he asks. "To be honest with you, I don't really know. I blew a phone call to him because I've been out of town for three weeks and just really found out about it and was gonna find out what's up."

August 8th, 2002 Arrest warrant issued for Vince Neil for misdemeanor assult charge Producer Michael Schuman alledges Vince Neil assulted him outside a club on April 28th of this year. Witnesses are quoted as saying Vince got out of his car, and attacked Schuman with punches to the face, causing Schuman to fall to the ground and fracturing his elbow. It was said that this attack was without provocation. Vince nor his management would comment on the matter.

July 20th, 2002 "The Blonde and The Rock Star" New Sitcom in Development Based on the Lives of Nikki Sixx & wife Donna D’Errico Los Angeles, CA (July 16, 2002)- Rock star Nikki Sixx from Motley Crue and TV actress wife Donna D’Errico are branching out into the world of television sitcoms with a show, titled "The Blonde and The Rock Star." The sitcom, created by Sixx and D’Errico, is centered around a divorced Rock God with two kids who falls in love with a beautiful, blonde single mom who happens to be the judge presiding over his court case. The husband-wife team will produce. "The concept of the show is loosely based on our lives," says Sixx. "Over the years, we have found a lot of humor in situations arising from having an oddly blended family and in dealings with our respective careers and the stereotypes that go along with them." "The Blonde and The Rock Star" clearly illustrates the concept of "opposites attract" when the two fall in love despite the fact all they have in common is that they are both single parents. Series of hilarious events ensue when the couple’s opposite worlds collide. "Although sometimes it seems all odds are against the union due to our different backgrounds, it is a perfect match." says D’Errico. The sitcom’s executive producers, veterans Mark Sennett and Alan Jacobs teamed up with the couple when introduced by managers Jordan Berliant and Carol Peters of Left Bank Management while working on "The Go-Go’s" at ABC. "Nikki, Donna, Alan and I are all very excited to collaborate on a project that reflects today’s ever-changing television market. We feel we have a show concept that really pushes the envelope, yet will attract all the key demographics for the networks with the built in "Motley Crue" audience and a new younger audience hungry for edgier programming, "says Senett. "The Dirt: Confessions of the World’s Most Notorious Rock Band" the autobiography of Sixx’s band Motley Crue is a New York Times best seller and has just been released in paperback by Regan/Harper-Collins books. June 18th, 2002 Vince Neil appeared on the syndicated radio show "Rockline" last night, along with members of Skid Row to promote their current tour. Vince and the Skids were interviewed while at a strip club, and were very obviously drunk during the interview. Vince was only able to answer a few caller's questions before the host stopped taking questions for him all together. I will try to get a Real Audio file of the interview soon to put up on this site. Nikki Sixx's recount of his near fatale drug over-dose was awarded "Best VH1 Behind the Music Moment" as voted by fans on-line fans at the VH1 website.
Nikki and Donna recently attended the "Tongue Magazine" (by Gene Simmons) premier party in Hollywood. Several other Hollywood celebs attended, Hugh Hefner was even there with his bunnies. Tommy Lee was on the list of invited guest, but he was a no show.
June 7, 2002 VH1 is currently in production of the show "Driven", featuring Motley Crue. The scheduled airing date is set for July 23rd. Mark you calendars and set your VCRs. Not projecting…its where I am, and where ive been…not really where im going.im tired of knowing the results.i want to leave alittle up to chance. Right now im in automatic…im not grinding the gears.in fact im just right where I wanna be. im being a songwriter… Yes I am a bass player, yes im in a band, and yes.im a performer… but Ive always thought myself a songwriter first, but sometimes that gets muddied being in a band…people forget. (or worse,you do) But what feeds my soul is the vision and the follow through of a song,a melody and a lyric…...motley crue has been a great vehicle for my songwriting( as well as some of the other guys)…it’s been a place to vent , but it seems in my desire to have down time from the band I forgot I needed a outlet for this madness that bubbles and boils, tugs and overflows in my head…My creativity (or insanity) needs a place to spill or I just die (or end up trying to kill myself) Im in a new placenow, but its funny, cause it smells, tastes and feels just like the old place. im in my creative zone again… Ive had the opportunity to write with a lot of new writers lately and am continuing down that road…what a journey…. there is so much talent out there to learn from…as a writer.i mostly write pop songs..motley played them heavy.. but anybody can do them.in there own style.ive been writing,. A lot of different styles of music…. the world is open to good songs..they always transend styles.. As an example>>>>((Rumor has it Tim McGraw may be interested in cutting home sweet home)) next month ill being going to Nashville to write, and will also be in Fla. and Atlanta as well. im starting a weekly writer jam season here at my studio in l.a. May 22nd, 2002 Motley Crue Sue By Producer For Back Royalties (5/22/02, 1 p.m. ET) -- Producer Tom Werman is suing Motley Crue and its record company for back royalties. Werman claims that Motley Crue and Beyond Music have "deliberately, persistently, and repeatedly breached" his agreement with the band by purposely withholding financial statements and monies owed him for his work on three Motley Crue albums: Shout At The Devil (1983), Theatre Of Pain (1985), and Girls, Girls, Girls (1987).Werman also says he's owed money for the music he produced that was used on the 1998 Greatest Hits collection, as well as any film- and TV-licensing deals involving his work.In papers filed in California Superior Court in Los Angeles, Werman is asking for damages in excess of $400,000, plus interest, attorney's fees, and court costs.In a more than 30-year career, Werman's production resume includes albums by Cheap Trick, Ted Nugent, Molly Hatchet, and '80s rockers Dokken, Kix, Krokus, L.A. Guns, Poison, and Twisted Sister, among others. Werman also signed Cheap Trick, Nugent, REO Speedwagon, and Boston while an executive at Epic Records in the '70s. -- Bruce Simon, New York
May 21st, 2002 Nikki and Donna are currently on vacation in Bora Bora, spending a little quality time together. Coincidently, Tommy Lee is in Bora Bora too. He was interviewed on "Rockline" last night, and said "Never say never" when asked if he'd consider rejoining Motley Crue in the future. Some of Tommy Lee's tour dates have been reschedule, due to a yet to be disclosed "Big plan" he has in store. Rumor had it that it might be for some sort of TV show. Nikki also recently returned from a song writers commune in Arrowhead, where he and othe song writers got together. He says he feels recharged to write new music.
April 29th, 2002 Nikki joined a few of us in the Motley Forever chat a little bit ago. He had a few kewl thngs to say. 1.)He has recently wrote a song for Faith Hill and may possibly be writing one for her husband Tim Mcgraw 2.) Nikki is working with MTV Films and Paramount films on the Motley Crue DIRT Movie. He said it will be for the big screen. Kinda like the Doors movie but more dirty. 3.) Nikki is also thinking beyond Motley Crue and possibly putting together a supergroup with him playing bass. It could be old school rockers or new rockers. He is up for some suggestions. Pick your nominess for Nikki's band here at this poll. 4.) New Motley Tour??. That is the big question thats on all our minds. Sixx says he would like to tour in 2003 or 2004 with Vince, Mick and Tommy or he wont tour at all. 5.) Nikki mentions that he really digs Tommys new album.

Castillo was diagnosed with the disease in May 2000, said his friend of many years, former Ozzy bassist Phil Soussan. He underwent aggressive radiation treatment and chemotherapy at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles, and by the summer of 2001 he seemed to be fully recovered. He started working with ex-Alice in Chains bassist Mike Inez on a new band and was in the process of hiring a singer six weeks ago when his neck suddenly became sore and swollen. Ten days ago, he was re-admitted into Cedars-Sinai. He was sent home Monday and died in his sleep at 8:30 p.m. Tuesday. "He had a flair to playing the drums," Soussan said. "He had a heavy right foot that was incredibly fast and his whole unique approach to drumming was just really powerful. He wasn't really good at copying other people, but he was really good at being himself, and it was very difficult for other people to copy him." The son of a mariachi musician and a homemaker, Castillo
was born on December 18, 1950, in Albuquerque, New Castillo's first professional band was Albuquerque's the Wumblies, formed in the late '60s. In the early '70s, he moved to Los Angeles and played in a variety of bands, including Mudd and USFA, before hooking up with Lita Ford in 1984 for her album Dancin' on the Edge. A year later, Mötley Crüe drummer Tommy Lee introduced Castillo to Osbourne, who invited him to England to audition. He played with Ozzy through 1993's Live and Loud Tour. After Lee left Mötley Crüe in 1999 to form Methods of Mayhem, Castillo joined for the 2000 album New Tattoo, but a few dates into the tour, he suffered a serious stomach ailment and was replaced by Hole's Samantha Maloney. Musicians enjoyed working with Castillo not only for his drumming skills, but also because he was warm and amiable. "He always had a smile and positive things to say about everything and everybody," Crüe bassist Nikki Sixx said in a statement. "I am heartbroken about the passing of one of my dearest friends," Osbourne said in a statement. "I will see you on the other side, Randy. I love you." "He was the kind of guy that made a great friend wherever he went," Soussan recalled. "If he showed up to someone's house, everyone wanted to see him. It wasn't like he took over a conversation, he just had a really good vibe." Castillo is survived by his mother and four sisters. Funeral arrangements are pending, but he will probably be buried with his father in Albuquerque, Soussan said. "I wish this wouldn't have happened," he added. "All he wanted to do was drum." Randy
Castillo, who played drums for Ozzy Osbourne from 1985 to 1993, died
Tuesday night from a form of cancer called squamous cell carcinoma. He
was 51.

He started drumming in his elementary school marching band and soon
discovered he had a gift. His family tells the story of how jazz legend
Buddy Rich once humored him by letting the kid play his kit. "Buddy
Rich whistled and said, 'Wow, your kid has an incredible right foot,'
" Soussan said.

sad, sad day. Last night, Randy Castillo (former drummer for Lita
Ford, Ozzy Ozbourne, and Motley Crue) died from complications of cancer.
Randy was recently hospitalized with the flu, and it was more than
his body could take while also fighting cancer. He was a sweet and
funny man, always had a smile on his face, and was loved by his fans and
fellow musicians alike. He will be surely missed from this planet,
and I'm sure he is rocking the halls of Heaven with the great musicians
that preceded him. My heart felt sympathies go out to his family,
girlfriend, friends, and fans. God bless you Rrrrrrrrrandy, we
will miss you.
