News for 2001 News for 2002 News for 2003 News for 2004
Dec. 24th, 2000 Happy 4th Anniversary to Nikki Sixx and Donna D'Errico. They were married at their house in 1996 in front of their children, in a candle light ceremony. No word yet on the birth of Nikki and Donna's new baby girl, but it should be soon!!!!
Dec. 18th, 2000 Today is the due date of Nikki and Donna's baby girl. No word yet as to whether she has arrived yet, but any day now! Happy Birthday to Randy Castillo (Dec. 18th). Hope your day is full of love and fun. Get better soon!
Dec. 6th, 2000 Nikki Sixx and wife Donna D'Errico are eagerly awaiting the birth of their first child together. The baby is due on Dec. 18th. They are planning on having a home birth. No word yet on the name they've picked yet, but I hear it starts with the letter "F". Nikki's birthday is Dec. 11, happy early birthday Sixxer. There is a very interesting interview with Randy Castillo at the www.metal-sludge.com site. Also, you can check out my on-going interview with Randy on this site.
Nov. 27th , 2000 Nikki has written a new song called "We won't die for this". He says the song is about "KNOWING THAT NO MATTER HOW MUCH YOUR HEART MY ACHE,YOU WONT DIE FROM IT...BUT IT STILL HURTS LIKE HELL." Nov. 25th, 2000 Motley Crue have completed their Japan tour, and are now back home taking a much needed break. Nikki and his wife Donna are expecting their first child together in early December. Nikki will celebrate his birthday on Dec. 11. Crue plans on taking about a year off, while gearing up for the next studio album. Nikki will produce music for other bands, Vince may record a solo album, and Randy will recover and continue treatment for his illness. Randy Castillo has made it publicly known that aside from suffering from an erupted ulcer this past summer, that he is currently undergoing treatment for cancer. He noticed a small lump along his jawline, and had it checked out. It turned out to be Squamous Cell Carcinoma. He had surgery to remove the tumor on Friday Oct. 13th, and is now going through radiation and chemo therapy. Randy had told me about all this back in mid-October, but I didn't feel I should share the info until he was ready to share it himself. Being a cancer patient myself, I know it takes time to deal with these things mentally first, before you tell others. Randy is very determined to fight this illness, and won't let it keep him or his spirits down. He plans to finish his treatments, and come back to Crue as their drummer. I wish Mr. Castillo the best of luck, ya can beat it baybee!
Nov. 4th, 2000 Motley Crue is currently in Japan, gearing up for the Japanese leg of their tour. I'll try and get you guys a set list as soon as possible. Nikki Sixx has stated that he has been asked to write a song for "Santana"'s next album. He will enlist the help of his song writing partner James Michael. Sixx is also planning on producing several other acts, before preparing for the next Motley Crue album. The release date for Crue's autobiographical book called "The Dirt" is slated for an April 2001 release. Crue plans to include a new and improved version of the song "Hollywood Ending" with the book. Nikki has also said he'd like to signed at least the first 500 copies, for the die-hard fans. More details on how you can get your hands on an autographed copy as I find out about it.
Oct. 26. 2000 MÖTLEY CRÜE AUSTRALIAN TOUR CANCELLED Jacobsen Entertainment Group today advised that the Mötley Crüe Australian tour scheduled for November will be postponed. Circumstances had previously forced the cancellation of Wollongong, Newcastle and Canberra and now, unfortunately due to personal circumstances beyond the band’s control, their time is further impacted in Australia. Reluctantly there is no other option at this point than to cancel the three remaining dates in Brisbane, Sydney and Melbourne. Mötley Crüe are extremely disappointed that they cannot perform this year for their Australian fans, but hope to reschedule at a later date. Tickets holders for the Brisbane Entertainment Centre, Melbourne Park and Sydney Entertainment Centre should return to their ticketing outlet to obtain a full refund.

Crue has also added a show in Hawaii after the Japan and Australia shows, ALOHA!
Sept. 28th, 2000 It appears Samantha Maloney will continue touring with Motley Crue through the year 2000. She will "man" the drums while Crue plays their dates in Japan and Australia starting in November 2000. Randy Castillo will take over again in the year 2001.

September 24th, 2000 A few new items to report. Nikki is co-writing a song for Meatloaf's album. The song is titled "Man of Steel". He is co-writing it with James Michael, who helped write on Crue's "New Tattoo" album. Crue is going into the studio to re-touch the song "Hollywood Ending" for possilbe future use on a movie soundtrack. Mick will be re-doing some guitar parts, and Vince will be doing some more vocal tracks. They are also going to be adding some orchestra string sounds to it. They will also be mixing the song "Nobody knows what it's like to be lonely" to coincide with the release of Crue's autobiography entitled " The Dirt", due for an April 2001 release. Nikki has stated he'd like to sign the first 500 copies for the fans. There is an offer on the table, so to speak, for Crue to do a European tour with Alice Cooper and a yet un-named opening act for the year 2001. Nikki would like to see a band such as "Queens of the Stoneage", "The Donnas", or "Powerman 5000" be the opening act. Nikki's Gibson Blackbird bass is now out and avaible in stores. Check it out at the following site: http://www.gibson.com/products/gibson/Bass/nikkisixxbass.html
September 9th, 2000 I'm working on an interview with RANDY CASTILLO for this site. I sent Randy 20 questions, and he is answering them a few at a time. Check it out, and check back for updates! The members of Motley Crue are back home now for a much needed rest before hitting Japan and Australia in November. They also plan to do another U.S. leg and possiblly a full Canadian leg. They also plan to include a lost Crue track song called "Nobody knows what it's like to be lonely" for free in the first run of this book. I still don't have a definate release date for this book, but when I do, I'll post it here. This leg of the Maximum Rock 2000 tour ends Sept. 3 in Ohio. They will then take most of Sept. and Oct. off, before preparing to tour in Japan. More tour dates as they become available.

Nikki has been talking with Joe Elliot of Def Lep about *possibly* touring together next year as co-headliners. Crue will take most of September and October off, before preparing to take the tour to Japan and Australia.
Aug. 16, 2000 Yesterday, August 15th, was the anniversary of Skylar Neil's passing. My thoughts and prayers are with her family and friends on this sad day. This show will be re-aired on 8/19/00 - 12:00am - 3:00am (ET) For more info about the show, please check out the "iN Demand" site. Concert relocated!!!! It has been confirmed that the Minneapolis date will be moved from the Rivers' Edge Park, Somerset, WI to Roy Wilkens Auditorium, downtown St. Paul. The show is still scheduled for Aug.19th. Motley Crue recently played in a contest winnner's backyard! About 50 people, by invitation of the winner, attended the backyard blow out! Crue played an all request set, as party guests danced and sang with the band, which included a finale were the contest winner and guest jumped on stage with Crue! Wow, talk about a party! Crue is currently finishing up the last few chapters of their much awaited autobiography entitled "The Dirt". I haven't heard about a publishing date yet, but I'll try to keep ya informed about it. At a recent Crue concert, a "fan" threw what appeared to be a 2 inch metal botl at Vince, hitting him in the forehead! The show was stopped for about 15 minutes, while paramedics looked at Vince's injury, suggesting he not finish the performance. Vince, being the trooper he is, finished thesome-what shortened set. With as many times as Crue has been sued in the past, they found it fitting to turn the tables a bit, and SUE the guy that threw the bolt! Hahahahaha, right on! Nikki, Vince and Samantha will be guest D.J.s at Boston Radio station WAAF while they are in town. Call the radio station for more details.
July 21, 2000 Mötley Crüe lead singer Vince Neil will take on the role of label head later this year when he establishes his own (Rat Daddy Records) as a means to re-issue his two early 90's solo albums "Exposed," & "Carved In Stone." Neil will also begin work on a third solo album for Rat Daddy after completion of Mötley Crüe Maximum Rock 2000 tour this summer. Nikki Sixx's Blackbird bass is finished! Ya can see a pic of it HERE! Latest words from Nikki Sixx off the AOL Crue message board: 1.WE CANCELLED THE NEW ORLEANS SHOW SO WE COULD PLAY THE*LENO * SHOW.IT WILL BE ON TONIGHT......WE PLAY HELL ON HIGH HEELS......TRY FOR A MAKE UP DATE LATER. 2.ANTHRAX IS OFF THE BILL.IT SADDENS US,CAUSE THEY WERE THE BAND THAT REALLY LIT A SPARK IN OUR <TOS> EVERYNIGHT.THE BIGGEST COMPLAINT IS THAT WE HAVENT BEEN PLAYING LONG ENUFF FOR OUR FANS( AND ITS OUR TOUR)....SO WE WANT TO ADD 5 OR 6 MORE TUNES....PLUS GIVES MEGADETH SOME MORE TIME TOO.....THERE JUST WASNT ENUFF TIME....ILL MISS THEM...THEY ARE AMAZING.... 3. RADIO IS HEATING UP HARD.....HAVENT SEEN IT THIS HOT IN YEARS.... 4.GOODNIGHT..I HAVE A 6 AM WAKE FOR A FLIGHT TO ALABAMA...... July 20, 2000 Motley Crue will appear on "The Tonight Show with Jay Leno" tonight (Thursday July 20th) at 11:30 PM. They will be performing their new single "Hell On High Heels" LIVE. Be sure to tune in and set your VCR's!!!! Motley Crue's new album "NEW TATTOO" debutted at #41 on the Billboard Top 200 album chart it's first week out. That might seem a little low, BUT, considering about 75% of the remaining top 40 artists are either Rap, R&B, or "kiddie" bands, it's actually pretty darn good! Crue was one of only a very few rock bands in the top 40. Here are some stats on their ranking on the singles chart, for "Hell on High Heels" Billboard Active Rock ranking (singles): #27 (last week #31) Billboard Album Rock (singles): #13 (last week #14) Billboard Heritage Rock (singles): #8 (last week #9) So as you can see, the single is moving up! BUT, it is VERY important to call your local rock radio station EVERY DAY, and request Hell on High heels! As soon as it is on top of the rock stations, other Top 40 stations will pick it up, and it will have a broader play availibility! This is what will make it go up on the charts!!!! Here are just a few rock radio stations that need a kick in the butt to start playing "HOHH" more. Drop them an e-mail or call and request "HOHH" WMMS - Cleveland, WXTB - Tampa, WJRR - Orlando, KIOZ - San Diego, KEGL - Dallas, WZTA - Miami, KISW - Seattle, KRXQ - Sacramento KSJO - San Jose. Nikki Sixx, at the moment, has a PUBLIC e-mail address! For the time being, you can e-mail him at This info has been verified, and it is indeed Nikki, not an employee or assistant. Be patient for a reply, I'm sure his mailbox is jammed packed with fan mail. The Motley Crue Pay-per-view concert (taped in Salt Lake City) is set for a August 19th debut. Promotions for the airing will start soon. No word yet on the price of this program. I am VERY interested in trading/buying any new Motley Crue BOOTLEGS that I don't already have of the Maximum Rock 2000 tour.
July 15, 2000 Looks like Randy Castillo will have to sit out for this first leg of the Maximum Rock tour. His doctor has recommended that he take more time to recover from his stomach surgery. July 6, 2000 Tons to report. I've posted several pages of pictures from the July 3 Motley Crue concert. You can find these pictures HERE. I also added more pix, the new pics start on page 8. I also wrote a review of the show. I chatted with Nikki the other day. They will be booking the over-seas tour dates in September. Then they will take December, January, and February off. Nikki's wife Donna is expecting their first child together in December, and Nikki wants to spend time with his family. There is a *possiblity* that Crue will do an addition areana tour in the U.S., possiblly starting in May 2001 (if demand is high enough, which I'm sure it will be). They'll have to wait and see how well the album does, which from what I've heard so far will be a best seller! If ya haven't grabbed your copy of "58" yet, go out and get it! It's VERY different from the 1958 demo from years ago. Some stores are filing the album in the "F" section, just a heads up for ya!

Randy Castillo will return to playing with the Crue, after recovery from his stomach surgery, on July 8th, in his home town of Alburquerque, NM. Samantha Maloney (drummer from the band HOLE) has been filling in for Randy since the start of the tour on June 24th. She is doing an awesome job!!!!
Here are a few fan reviews of the show, enjoy: Setlist: June 25, San Bernadino, GH Blockbuster Pavillion Sorry, i forgot the exact order, i'll approximate and try to get close. I got all the songs though
1) Kickstart 2) Same Ole Situation 3) Primal Scream 4) Punched in the teeth by love 5) Home Sweet Home 6) Don't Go away mad 7) Hell on high heels 8) Wild Side 9) Too young to fall in love 10) Shout at the devil 11) Piece of Your action 12) Dr. Feelgood 13) Girls, Girls Girls 14) White Punks on dope(Tubes Cover) 15) Looks that kill 16) Live Wire I think thats it, they ended with Live Wire. I'm so disappointed they didn't play Toast of the Town . Hopefully they will at the San Diego show. The background was a brick background with big lips on the left, New Tattoo sign in the center., Live nude girls sign on the right, the girls only danced on the upper level except for Girls Girls Girls, they came down. They didn't show their (breasts) like they did last tour. The blond dancer is hot as (heck). Megadeth and Anthrax were alright, Megadeth didn't play Almost Honest or Crush Em. That sucked. but crue was fun even though they didn't play Toast . Samantha Maloney was pretty (darn) good. Mick did a short solo and Vince told a short story about meeting samantha that led to Piece of your Action. The drum set was raised 3 or 4 feet off the ground and just chilled in the center. Nothing fancy. Though she did kick (butt). Sorry no pics. I forgot to bring a camera and I was (drunk) in the parking lot when i Remembered. I was in no shape to drive to a store nor re-pay the 15 bux for preffered parking. Another Fan's review of the show I saw the Crue at the Blockbuster Pavilion last night and had a blast. My friend and I went and got pretty good orchestra seats. Anthrax played for about 40 minutes and they rocked hard, they really know how to play their instruments. After that Megadeth came on. They sounded alright but I was kinda dissapointed becuase I expected alot more from them. I saw them at the house of blues few months ago and it was way more energetic. Then, after a 30 minute wait, the rock Gods (Motley Crue) took the stage. The stage setting was amazing filled with XXX signs and Tattoo parlors reminding me of the Sunset Strip in the late 80s. Sounds of police sirens and helicopters shreiked through the speakers and I got really crazy. Mick was the first one to come out and played the intro to "Kickstart my heart". The band sounded amazing, even better than the last Maximum rock tour. Before the show I was doubting whether or not Sam Maloney would aptly fill the shoes of Randy, boy was I wrong. That girl knows how to rock, her drumming was amazing and she was really cute too. I said to myself that she should join a kick (butt) rock band instead of drumming for Hole. The band ripped through "Same Ol Situation" and"Dont go away mad" until they introduced the first new song of "New Tattoo". They sang "Punched in the teeth by love", boy did it sound great, I cannot wait for that album to come out. The encore song was the Tubes cover "White Punks On Dope" and the show closer was "Live Wire". Overall, the best crue show I've seen so far (my fourth one). I liked it so much that I am going to try and go to the Los Angeles show as well. Hope you get this message soon, rock on!
Make sure you join the mailing list on Motley.com to gain access to the free members area. This area will include song samples from New Tattoo, as well as pictures from the band from the road, plus tons of other stuff.
I'll be attending the July 3rd show at the Gorge Amphitheater in George, WA. I'll post a full review of the show as soon there after as possible!!!

""Playing with Mötley Crüe has been a lifelong dream for me -- it's like winning the lotto. Rehearsing with the band has been amazing, and I can't wait to play in front of the Mötley Crüe fans." Nikki Sixx had this to say about Samantha's drumming abilities: "We had previously met Samantha and knew she was dynamic and could add a real edge to the live show. Our first practice together was great. She already knew most of the songs" Congrats to Samantha, and best wishes to Mr. Castillo on his recovery.
In other Crue news, Nikki's side project band, called "58", released their first album today in the US called "Diet for a new America" The song "Piece of Candy" is the first single off this album. Call your local rock radio stations and request it today!!
June 19, 2000 The cartoon video for Crue's new single "Hell on High Heels" premiered today on the VH1.com site. I beleive the video will be available on the Campchaos.com site for download in about a week. Check it out, it's hilarious! Also, here is a post from one of Crue's personal friends who recently visited them in California: Being that Randy (get well !!) will be back before the show hits the east coast, I'm glad I got to hear Samantha play with the Crue.... she's a monster. She totally rocked KNOCK 'EM DEAD KID....and was picking up the new songs quickly. The girls sounded great singing with Vince on WHITE PUNKS ON DOPE. (woohoo) I think Vince was as stunned as I was, upon hearing the outcome of the De La Hoya fight...but hearing him do some of the new tracks rocked.... Mick just plays non-stop: between songs, after songs... and Nikki...well... 4 strings, how hard could it be ? The stage set is a page out of Classic Crue >>> "The Sunset Strip On Tour"...Basically a trashy gutter set ...the only thing missing is Sixx's mom. (joke)

SOURCE: From ALLSTAR news: HOLE DRUMMER MAY SEE ACTION BEHIND MOTLEY CRUE DRUM KIT Hole drummer Samantha Maloney has been in talks with rockers Motley Crue about possibly temporarily replacing usual Crue drummer Randy Castillo, who is recuperating from emergency stomach surgery. While the band is expecting Castillo to make a full recovery in time to kick off the band's stint on the Maximum Rock tour with Megadeth and Anthrax on June 24 in Sacramento, Calif., (allstar, April 4), Maloney has been tagged as the expected replacement if Castillo in fact does not recuperate in time, according to Hole's official Web site. A Motley Crue spokesperson, however, says that Maloney has talked with the group, but Castillo is expected to fully recover in time for the dates. Castillo underwent emergency stomach surgery this past weekend in Los Angeles. The exact cause of his ailment was not known at press time. Meanwhile, Motley Crue's new album, New Tattoo, is due on July 11th, on Beyond Records.

May 24, 2000 Motley Crue First Single From New Studio Album ``New Tattoo'' Causes Chaos On Internet Sites Napster and MP3 Source: LOS ANGELES--(ENTERTAINMENT WIRE)--May 24, 2000-- "Hell On High Heels" Gets Leaked to KLOS Radio in Los Angeles: Instant Fan Response; Motley Crue Ignites the Summer Concert Season With the Maximum Rock Tour Featuring Special Guest Megadeth (and Anthrax) Motley Crue, finishing up their eighth studio album "New Tattoo," held a private listening event last week in Los Angeles to preview a couple of the new tracks.
"Hell On High Heels," the first single from the upcoming July 11 "New Tattoo" release, was nabbed from the Internet by Los Angeles rock radio station KLOS and immediately put on the air this past weekend and uploaded to the Web site www.klos.com. According to Rita Wild, programming director for the station, "The song 'Hell on High Heels' is a quintessential song from a band that has a permanent place in music. The reaction on the phones has been very positive!" Once the song was released via klos.com and other music Internet sites including law-suit prone Napster, fans immediately clamored that this is what they have been waiting for. Here is what a few of the fans had to say: "This is party-rock, rock-rock, hard-rock (or whatever you want to call it) at it's finest ... and this song seems to roll all my old mix-tapes into one and all those summers are flooding back ... Thank you, Motley Crue."
"My dreams have been answered. For the last 10 years or so us hard rock, rock 'n' roll lifestyle people have had to endure a lot of <crap>. Crue has cured the '90s, this song is so good. I wish I had a red convertible Chevy with tiger striped seat-covers and lived in SoCal, that's what this song makes me envision."
"Yes, the Crue is back large and in charge kicking <butt> and taking names. Yes! Long live the Crue, my summer is gonna rock!"
"I just finished downloading it and listened to it. Sorry to those who love Feelgood ('Dr. Feelgood'), but this song is better than everything from that album. In fact, I think it's their best yet."
While other bands have expressed concerns about music being distributed via the Internet, such as with MP3 and Napster sites, Motley Crue is embracing the spread of the single via various outlets. According to bass player Nikki Sixx: "Motley Crue has always supported any outlet, Internet or otherwise, that allows us to connect to our fans. We have always allowed our fans to tape shows, exchange bootlegs, and the Internet is the perfect auditorium for this fan revolution."
Look for Motley Crue on the Maximum Rock tour along with Megadeth and Anthrax starting June 24 in Sacramento, Calif. For more tour information, visit www.maximumrock.com.

In 1999, Motley Crue re-released their multi-platinum catalog on Motley Records, simply titled "Crucial Crue." In addition, the band has played to more than 30 million fans and is credited by some as having helped define rock music and lifestyle to the MTV generation. Look for Motley Crue to announce a tell-all book to coincide with the "New Tattoo" album release and the Maximum Rock 2000 tour soon.
May 21, 2000 Nikk Sixx chatted on AOL late last night. He described the album cover as "ALL BLACK WITH A TATTOO GUN IN THE CENTER WITH A DRAGON WRAPPED AROUND IT". He said Time Bomb didn't make it on the album, and that Randy Castillo wouldn't do a drum solo so they could play more songs this tour.
May 19, 2000 SORT: Donna DeChristopher/CDNow/Allstar Motley Crue Previews New Tracks On Sunset Strip Liquor, strippers, and tattoos -- What better way to usher in new Motley Crue? The metal gods debuted a pair of songs off the upcoming New Tattoo in high style from atop the Sunset Strip on Thursday (May 18) afternoon. Guitarist Mick Mars was a no-show at the event. According to a Crue spokesperson, producer Mike Clink made Mars stay behind to finish his guitar parts. The sounds of New Tattoo's first single, "Hell on High Heels," and "She Needs Rock & Roll" filled the air as exotic dancers (handpicked by the band) branded partygoers with tattoos of Motley Crue's new Asian-inspired logo, created by No Fear designer Eric Casillas. New Tattoo is the first Motley Crue album to feature Castillo. The CD includes a cover of the Tubes' classic "White Punks on Dope." The band will hit the road with Megadeth and Anthrax for the Maximum Rock Tour, kicking off June 24, in San Bernadino, CA. Here's the final track listing for New Tattoo: 1. "Hell on High Heels" 2. 04/15/00 Motley Crue singer Vince Neil says that his band’s upcoming Maximum Rock tour with Megadeth and Anthrax will be a celebration of straight-ahead rock. ''When you see the names Motley Crue, Megadeth and Anthrax, you don't think rap. You don't think grunge. You think rock 'n' roll. I think it's a great combination of bands--if I was a rock fan I'd want to see it.'' The 48-date tour, which will hit the outdoor amphitheatre circuit, kicks off on June 24 and will cover the continental United States. It also features stops in Canada, Mexico and Puerto Rico, before a closing Sept. 2 date in Pittsburgh, Penn. The Crue will play a mixture of hits such as ''Kickstart My Heart'' and ''Dr. Feelgood,'' as well as tunes from their new LP, ''New Tattoo.'' Set for release on June 20th, ''New Tattoo'' is Motley Crue’s first full-length album since the much-ballyhooed departure of longtime drummer Tommy Lee. Neil says he’s counting the days until he and his bandmates, including new tubthumper Randy Castillo, can get out and play live again. ''I’m just excited to get this record out. We haven’t had anything new in, like, three years now. I’m excited to play the new songs live, along with older Motley song. I love touring. It’s my favorite part about being in a band.'' That’s probably a good thing because, after the U.S. dates the Crue is formulating tour plans for Europe, South America, Australia and Japan for the coming year. For this summer’s outing, Neil said Motley Crue will trot out its usual elaborate stage set up, with the theme being the streets of Hollywood, something Motley Crue knows a fair amount about from its days of prowling the strip during glam-metal's heyday. ''The stage set right now is based on the streets of Hollywood, [but it] is in the Twilight Zone and warped out. There’s a strip club, a tattoo parlor and you have a rock club called Dirty Dick’s rock room. And we’ll have a lot of cool drum effects and a huge lighting rig.'' Neil said he’s had no contact with Lee since he left the Crue, and that Castillo is becoming increasingly integrated into the band with the recording of the new album, the band’s first without Lee sitting behind the skins. ''Randy’s great. He’s an unbelievable drummer. It was a little bit of a rough transition for him jumping right into the project, going out on tour with us last summer. He had to try and play like Tommy. Now that we’ve all written songs together, he can put in his own style of drumming.'' With sixteen songs recorded by former Guns N’ Roses producer Mike Clink, Neil said the band will trim that number down before releasing the album. He said that the new material will be the kind of lighter-flicking, fist-pumping stuff that made Motley their millions. ''It sounds like a cross between ‘Shout at the Devil’ and ‘Dr. Feelgood.’ It’s basic rock ‘n’ roll with big hooky choruses and guitar riffs. Something you can sing along to.''

``Motley Crue is Rolling Into 2000 With (TOS)-kicking New Music.'' -- Mancow, Q101-Chicago
Motley Crue has started recording its eighth studio album titled "New Tattoo" (Motley Records/Beyond Music) due in stores on June 20.
"New Tattoo" will mark the first studio album from the group in more than three years. Over the last three years, Motley Crue has enjoyed a wave of success including: album sales of more than 1 million in 1999, "Best Road Show Concert of 1998" honors by the Austin Music Awards held at SXSW and a touring base that's gone from small theaters back to sold-out amphitheaters.
Nikki Sixx commented, "Over the last three years we've had the privilege of building our audience one fan at a time. We are an uninhibited rock band and writing the new songs has been a kick in the (TOS)-- 'New Tattoo' is something I am excited for fans to make a permanent part of their music collection."
Mike Clink, noted rock producer of Guns 'N Roses' "Appetite For Destruction" and its recent live album release, will be producing "New Tattoo."
According to Clink: "With 'New Tattoo,' Motley Crue is returning to the raw edgy sounds of 'Too Fast For Love' and the pounding bass lines, fast guitar hooks and great songwriting that fans remember of 'Dr. Feelgood.' Personally, it's exciting to work with a band that continues to forge such an important place in rock 'n' roll."
"'New Tattoo' has been a grand songwriting experiment. All of us-- Randy, Mick, Nikki and myself have brought song ideas and concepts and made them 'Motley Crue.' This album's energy and attitude will remind people of what they fell in love with -- the energy that was captured when we all lived together above Sunset Boulevard and recorded 'Too Fast For Love,'" said lead singer Vince Neil.
According to Mancow (Q101-Chicago), "Screwed, blued, with new tattoos, Motley Crue is rolling into 2000 with a 40 ounce of rock 'n' roll attitude and a side order of (TOS)-kicking new music."
Motley Crue's essential albums, "Too Fast For Love," "Shout At The Devil," "Theatre of Pain" and "Dr. Feelgood," sold more than 40 million copies and produced more than four top ten singles.
In 1999, Motley Crue re-released its multi-platinum catalog on Motley Records simply titled "Crucial Crue." In addition, the band has played to more than 30 million fans and is credited by some as having helped define rock music and lifestyle to the "MTV generation."
Look for Motley Crue to announce its headline summer amphitheater tour, a tell-all book and a major release PC game to coincide with the "New Tattoo" album release soon. |
